The /a/-like alpha smacks a bit of Latinization to me, and I hate it when I use an alpha in Latin text and it looks like an /a/ (e.g. Minion).3 -

A lot of those strike me as heavily Latinized and just plain silly. I'm an advocate of progressive Greek, but not if it's badly done.10
